Chickens, Tea, Coffee

The chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) is a domesticated fowl, and is one of the most common and widespread domestic animals, with a population of more than 24 billion in 2003. There are more chickens in the world than any other species of bird. Humans keep chickens primarily as a source of food, consuming both their meat and their eggs. Chicken is about 120 calories per serving. Chickens are omnivores. In the wild, they often scratch at the soil to search for seeds, insects and even larger animals such as lizards or young mice. The adult rooster can be distinguished from the hen by his larger comb. Chickens may live for five to ten years, depending on the breed. As a food, Chicken is the most common type of poultry in the world, and is prepared as food in a wide variety of ways, varying by region and culture. Typically, the muscle tissue (breast, legs, thigh, etc.), liver, heart, and gizzard and eggs are processed for food.

Tea is the agricultural product of the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of various cultivars and sub-varieties of the Camellia sinensis plant, processed and cured using various methods. "Tea" also refers to the aromatic beverage prepared from the cured leaves by combination with hot or boiling water, and is the common name for the Camellia sinensis plant itself. After water, tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world. It has a cooling, slightly bitter, astringent flavour which many enjoy. There are at least six varieties of tea: white, yellow, green, oolong, black, and post-fermented teas of which the most commonly found on the market are white, green, oolong, and black. Some varieties, such as traditional oolong tea and Pu-erh tea, a post-fermented tea, can be used medicinally. The term "tea" is sometimes loosely used to refer to "herbal teas", which are an infusion or tisane of leaves, flowers, fruit, herbs, or other plant material that contain

Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted seeds, called coffee beans, taken from the coffee plant. Seeds of coffee cherries, the beans grow on trees in over 70 countries. Cultivated primarily in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, Brazil was the world leader in production in 2009. Green unroasted coffee is one of the most traded agricultural commodities in the world. Due to its caffeine content, coffee often has a stimulating effect on humans. Today, coffee is the third most popular drink in the world, behind water and tea. Almost all methods of preparing coffee requires the beans to be ground and mixed with hot water for long enough to extract the flavor. This is often called brewing. Coffee berries, which contain the coffee seed, or "bean", are produced by several species of small evergreen bush of the genus Coffea. The two most commonly grown are the highly regarded Coffea arabica, and the 'robusta' form of the hardier Coffea canephora.
